Our STORY
There’s a corner stool at Patrick’s with a storied history, first as the original owner’s favorite stool as Walter enjoyed his Heinekens and cigarettes. But what really began the naming of King’s Corner came from our late good friend Rick Furbish, who had an expression “It’s Good to be King”. More recently, co-owner Jeff Beetle, who earned the title “Chowder King” over the years by winning contests with his seafood chowder recipe (among other culinary awards) also added to the lore of King’s Corner by frequenting that particular stool.
You’ll find the King’s Corner name over this stool, which was used to raise lots of money as one of the 33 teams of Pub Mania. Over those 11 years, Pub Mania, the world’s greatest barstool challenge, raised over $2.3 Million for kids in need in our community.
In 2020, in the midst of the pandemic, King’s Corner raised $15,668 for the new Community Challenge, which is the pandemic-proof revision of Pub Mania.
For 2021, we are playing to surpass last years total, and we invite you to take part in the spirit and generosity of the Children’s Auction.
