Patrick's, opened in 1987, is named after the original owner's (Walter Kelleher) father from Macroom, County Cork, Ireland. Patrick's was an instant hit due to its comfortable setting and quality food. Walter also operated two boats on Lake Winnipesaukee, the Aishling and the Tir Na Nog.
Patrick's was purchased from Walter Kelleher in 1994 by Jeff & Allan Beetle, bringing a new spirit of quality, enthusiasm and service. For over 24 years, the Beetle family has operated the pub, including Wendy Beetle (Jeff's wife), Jennifer Beetle (Allan's wife), Harvey Beetle (father) and off-and-on help from Nicole and Kyle, Brian, Martha, Christy and Brendon.
During this time, Patrick's has made several upgrades and expansions to the restaurant. They have been recognized with several prestigious awards including Restaurant of the Year (New Hampshire Lodging & Restaurant Association), Good Neighbor Award (National Restaurant Association) and Corporate Soul Award (Belknap County Economic Development Council).
The following was created by the management team in the Spring of 2010 and remains as our guiding commitment...
Patrick's is an organization committed to making a positive impact in our community. We conduct business in a way that serves our staff, our customers and our community.
We are committed to effective communication. We provide regular feedback to our employees as well as communicate our acknowledgment and appreciation of their efforts. We provide staff and management with clear strategies and goals for the company. We make clear the organizational structure and management responsibilities, and ensure everyone has the information they need on a daily basis to be a successful member of the team.
When the inevitable breakdowns occur, we will accept responsibility and not let resignation and "why bother" take over.
Working as a team and striving for excellence gives us the freedom to serve our guests with an unforgettable experience. We choose to create a workplace full of inspiration, creativity, innovation and fun, and to share that with our fellow employees and guests. We take pride in everything we stand for, respecting one another for who we are, how we think and what we can contribute.
"The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it."
